Urid Dal, also known as urad dal, Ulutham Paruppu, or split black lentils, is a common variety of pulses in India. The whole urad, or black beans, are peeled and skinned to make urad dal, which is used in soups, crisps, savoury pancakes, vadas, and many other dishes. Urad dal is rich in proteins,soluble and insoluble fibre, carbohydrates, vitamin B, and minerals.
